Easy things to draw
Simple subjects that look good fast — with step-by-step pictures for the ones you want help with.
“Easy” doesn’t mean boring. These subjects are easy because they’re built from a few simple shapes — circles, triangles, rectangles — which means they look good quickly and teach you the skill behind harder drawings. The linked ones have a step-by-step tutorial with a picture for every step and a Draw along button.

Why easy drawings make you better
Every complicated drawing is a pile of easy ones. A horse is two circles, a box and some sticks. A face is an egg with lines across it. When you can draw a convincing circle, cylinder and box, you can draw nearly anything — that’s the idea behind the shape-first method.
So draw easy things often, and draw them in different ways: a heart in one line, a heart in three colours, a heart that’s a balloon. Then try one of the harder tutorials — the dragon or the eye — and notice how much of it you already know.
